Based in Falmouth, Cornwall, Basic Witch® blends traditional tarot and astrology with storytelling for the contemporary, EsoTechnic world. We provide tarot readings and natal chart consultations, either online or in-person. For clients interested in learning how to read the Tarot or interpret their own personal cosmologies, we offer 1-2-1 coaching to learn about cartomancy, divination, and astrology. Our store features charming illustrated books, decks and gifts with magical themes.

Our little divination business was founded and is run by P. J. Wood, AKA Jordi, who is an accredited member of the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM).

Using our own original illustrated decks - featuring characters from mythology and folklore - our lighthearted, entertaining and informative approach to divination situates the client in a unique and heroic narrative… the story of their life.

1. What divination services do you offer?

We offer various in-person and remote divination experiences. All services are 18+; valid ID may be requested. Our primary in-person services include:

• Traditional Tarot Readings (15-45 minutes, from £15) – from short but sweet traditional three card readings to in-depth explorations of the full twelve houses, we offer a range of tarot spreads to choose from that incorporate mythology, cartomancy and astrology to divine insight into the months ahead… using our very own illustrated decks.
• Astrology Consultations (15-45 minutes, from £15) – A printed natal chart keepsake, with an interpretation of your unique planetary placements. Various options to explore, depending on how deep you want to analyse your birth chart.

Our remote online and postal services include:

• WhatsApp Chat Tarot Reading with Pre-Recorded 10 Minute Video (£25) – Traditional three-card spread with a bespoke, personalised video filmed with Rayban Meta glasses.
• Bespoke Astrological Natal Chart by Post (From £30) – A hand-drafted natal chart delivered by mail as a gold foil print with interpretive reading in a presentation folder. A beautiful gift for birthdays.

2. How do I book and pay for a reading?

Booking is simple: for an in-person reading pay a small non-refundable deposit, then pay the balance in-person at your appointment by card or cash. For online readings, full payment is taken on booking. Deposits secure your slot but are non-refundable unless we cancel. Rescheduling is allowed once for in‑person (if done 24+ h before) or fully refundable if a one-off WhatsApp reading is cancelled 48+ h in advance.

3. Where and when are readings available? Are there any accessibility considerations?

📍 Basic Witch, Studio 1, The Old Brewery Yard, High Street, Falmouth, Cornwall TR11 2BY – weekly appointments, year-round. Please see our current list of in-person and online services to check dates for availability.

Our studio has two small steps and we regret it is not wheelchair accessible.

4. Can I get a discount, group booking rate, subscription membership, or special offer?

• Year Ahead Tarot Consultation & Natal Chart Consultation Bundle (1 Hour, £55) – A combined natal chart consultation with a deep 12-card “Year Ahead” reading. Save when you buy both these services as a bundle.
• Student discount: We offer a special Student Tarot Reading (15 min, £12.50) for students over 18 years of age, with a valid student ID. This promotion is restricted to In-Person tarot readings at our studio in Falmouth. The Student Discount is restricted to this specific promotion and is not available for online readings or other products and services. A non-refundable reservation fee is required for advanced bookings made via our website.
• Happy Hour Tarot Readings: We occasionally offer special Happy Hour Tarot Readings at a discounted rate at our Falmouth tarot parlour. Keep an eye on our Instagram for announcements @realbasicwitch.
• Join our customer loyalty program! If you want regular tarot readings at an affordable price, consider signing up for a membership to the Basic Witch® Coven Club. What’s more, the first tier is FREE to join! Members receive access to heavily discounted remote tarot readings every month.
• Catch us on livestream! We offer public tarot readings in return for tips via Ko-Fi whilst live-streaming. For our latest offers and to catch us when we go live, follow @realbasicwitch on Instagram or visit our livestream page.
• We offer a group booking discount for in-person tarot readings and astrology consultations for parties of 5-12 people. Readings for your guests take place 1-2-1 for fifteen minutes each with a reader at our central Falmouth studio, located among the bars and restaurants of Old Brewery Yard. To book readings or natal charts for your birthday, hen-do or celebration with us in Falmouth please see our Group Booking service. Table reservations in our neighbouring bars can be arranged, subject to availability, upon request.

5. Do you offer gift vouchers?

Absolutely! £25, £50, £75 and £100 digital gift vouchers are valid for one year and redeemable across a variety of products and services, including remote tarot readings, bespoke natal charts, jewellery and merchandise. Apple Wallet compatible.

6. Who conducts the readings?

Basic Witch® is operated by P.J. Wood, AKA Jordi, a holistic practitioner accredited by the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine organisation.

We occasionally host other experienced guest tarot readers, palmists, psychics, healers, clairvoyants, astrologers and holistic practitioners who hire our studio to offer their services. Each session booked with a guest reader may include their signature service and personal style. All bookings made through our website are with independent practitioners; they are not employees or representatives of our business. We do not endorse or guarantee their services, and any concerns or disputes must be addressed directly with the practitioner. We are not liable for the outcomes of any sessions booked with visiting guest readers.

7. I’m organising an event. Can I hire a tarot reader to provide their services on location?

Yes! Basic Witch travels to events on location within Cornwall, across the UK, and internationally. Whether it’s a wedding, music festival, holistic retreat, cruise ship entertainment, private party celebration, or corporate event, we provide engaging readings tailored to your guest count and event style. Standard bookings include 1-2-1 tarot readings or natal chart consultations lasting around 10 minutes per guest, with capacity for up to 30 clients per day. 9. What’s your cancellation policy for tarot readings?

• In-person readings in Falmouth: reschedule once if notified 24+ h in advance; deposits non-refundable unless cancelled by us.
• WhatsApp readings: due to the speed at which we respond to requests for quick Tarot readings for online clients, we regret we cannot offer refunds for remote readings. Your reading goes into production as a video the moment you place your order.
