Founded by P. J. Wood, an IPHM accredited holistic practitioner, Basic Witch® is a thriving divination business. Each month we host a roster of visiting guest practitioners and instructors, including cartomancers, astrologers, psychics, palmists, and more! We’ve created a tarot deck for Chicago’s Crossed Crow Books, authored our very own grimoire, and published magical folklore books with Penguin Random House. We regularly read the cards for clients worldwide.

1. What divination services do you offer?

We offer various in-person and remote divination experiences. All services are 18+; valid ID may be requested.

• Classic Tarot Reading (20 min, £25) – Ideal three-card session (£5 deposit)  
• Specialist Tarot Reading (40 min, £50) – Featuring more detailed, reader-specific spreads (£10 deposit)  
• Tarot Consultation (60 min, £75) – Deep 12-card “Year Ahead” reading (£15 deposit)  
• Classic Palm Reading (25 min, £25) – Limited slots, often featured as guest events (£5 deposit)  

Remote online readings and natal charts:

• WhatsApp Tarot Reading (25 min, £25) – Traditional three-card spread with live chat and bespoke, personalised video clips. We offer this service as a one-off reading, or with discounts for weekly or monthly subscriptions for those who wish to have regular readings.
• Bespoke Astrological Natal Chart (From £35) – A hand-drafted natal chart delivered as a gold foil print with interpretive reading in a presentation folder. A beautiful gift for birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, weddings, baby showers and graduations.

2. How do I book and pay for a reading?

Booking is simple: for an in-person reading, pay a small non-refundable deposit (£4–£15 depending on the session), then pay the balance in-person at your appointment by card or cash. For online readings, full payment is taken on booking. Deposits secure your slot but are non-refundable unless we cancel. Rescheduling is allowed once for in‑person (if done 24+ h before) or fully refundable if a one-off WhatsApp reading is cancelled 48+ h in advance. We do not refund subscription remote readings.

IN-PERSON SERVICES: Visit the bookings page to choose a service and make an appointment for a 1-2-1 reading in-person at our Falmouth studio.

ONLINE SERVICES: Schedule your appointment on WhatsApp with an experienced tarot reader.

3. Where and when are readings available? Are there any accessibility considerations?

📍 Basic Witch, Studio 1, The Old Brewery Yard, High Street, Falmouth, Cornwall TR11 2BY – weekly appointments, year-round. Please see this month’s list of in-person services to choose a reader and check dates for availability.

Our studio has two small steps and is not wheelchair accessible.

4. Can I get a discount, group booking rate, or special offer?

• Student discount: We offer a special Student Tarot Reading (15 min, £20) for students over 18 years of age, with a valid student ID. This promotion is restricted to In-Person classic tarot readings at our studio in Falmouth. It is not available for online readings via WhatsApp. A £4 non-refundable deposit is required for advanced bookings made via our website.
• Happy Hour Tarot Readings: We sometimes offer a special Happy Hour Tarot Reading  (15 minutes, £15) in the early evenings. Keep an eye on our Instagram for announcements @realbasicwitch.
• Subscription Deals: for remote Whatsapp Tarot Readings, we offer a 20% discount to customers who subscribe to regular weekly readings.
• We offer a group booking discount for in-person tarot readings for parties of 5-12 people. Readings for your guests take place 1-2-1 for fifteen minutes each with a reader at our central Falmouth studio, located among the bars and restaurants of Old Brewery Yard. To book readings for your birthday, hen-do or celebration with us in Falmouth please see our Group Booking service. Table reservations in our neighbouring bars can be arranged, subject to availability, upon request.

5. Do you offer gift vouchers?

Absolutely! £25, £50, £75 and £100 digital gift vouchers are valid for one year and redeemable across a variety of products and services, including remote tarot readings, bespoke natal charts, jewellery and merchandise. Apple Wallet compatible.

6. Who conducts the readings?

Basic Witch® is operated by P.J. Wood, a holistic practitioner accredited by the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine organisation.

We also host experienced guest tarot readers, palmists, psychics, healers, clairvoyants, astrologers and other holistic practitioners who hire our studio to offer their services. Each session booked with a guest reader may include their signature service and personal style. All bookings made through our website are with independent practitioners; they are not employees or representatives of our business. We do not endorse or guarantee their services, and any concerns or disputes must be addressed directly with the practitioner. We are not liable for the outcomes of any sessions booked with visiting guest readers.

7. I’m organising an event. Can I hire a tarot reader to provide their services on location?

Yes! Basic Witch travels to events on location within Cornwall, across the UK, and internationally. Whether it’s a wedding, music festival, holistic retreat, cruise ship entertainment, private party celebration, or corporate event, we provide engaging readings tailored to your guest count and event style. 8. Do you teach people how to read the Tarot?

9. What’s your cancellation policy for tarot readings?

• In-person readings in Falmouth: reschedule once if notified 24+ h in advance; deposits non-refundable unless cancelled by us.
• WhatsApp readings: full refund if cancelled 48+ h before; no refund within 48 h.
